Camps and Scholarships
The Upper Loup NRD provides a variety of scholarships and grants for teachers and students with an interest in natural resources. Range Camp: The Upper Loup NRD provides scholarships to students who wish to attend Range Camp near Halsey, Nebraska. Students at the camp learn about range management, plant identification, grazing practices, and more. For more information and applications you can call our office 308-645-2250 or Download Range Camp Application Adventure Camp on the Environment (ACE):This camp is for 6th- 8th grade students who want to learn more about Nebraska’s Natural Resources through hands-on investigation, exploration, and discovery.The Upper Loup NRD provides scholarships to attend the ACE Camp hosted by the states NRD’s at the Nebraska State 4-H Camp in Halsey. For more information and applications you can call our office at 308-645-2250 or Download ACE Camp Application Nebraska Ranch Practicum: The Upper Loup NRD sponsors one $100 scholarship per sub-district yearly. The Nebraska Ranch Practicum is a three-season, hands-on ranch management program designed to give participants the skills and education needed in today’s complex ranching industry. Envirothon: The Upper Loup NRD will help sponsor Envirothon teams from the district who make it to state competition. The Envirothon is a team competition that tests students on their knowledge of botany, wildlife, water, and other natural resources issues. Educator Scholarships: Scholarships are available to district educators who are interested in continuing education in a natural resources or agriculture related field. Two scholarships are available district-wide, each worth $150. For more information and applications you can contact our office 308-645-2250. Other Scholarships: Scholarships and grants may also be available for other natural resources-oriented camps and workshops such as Project Wet, Project Wild and Project Learning Tree.
