Upper Loup NRD ulnrd |
The Upper Loup NRD, part of the Loup River Basin, is compromised of 6,690 square miles and includes all of Grant, Hooker, Thomas, Blaine, and Logan counties and parts of McPherson, Brown, and Cherry Counties. The distance from east to west is 120 miles, and from north to south is 78 miles and most of the 4,275,000 acres lies within the Nebraska Sandhills.
The Upper Loup NRD became operational July 1, 1972. The District is divided into five sub-districts. Eleven directors make up the governing body.
