To promote conservation, water quality, and waste reduction within the District the ULNRD has requested funds to help expand current recycling efforts in your area as well as across the District. We are currently collecting recycables in the communities of Halsey, Hyannis, Stapleton, and Thedford. LOCATIONS:
DUNNING--Southwest corner of High School parking lot
HALSEY--Just south of the community building
HYANNIS--At the entrance of the Hyannis Recycling Center (across from the state yard).
MULLEN--At the Village drop-off site during normal business hours of Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday 8-5
SENECA--Next to dumpsters by elementary school
THEDFORD--39252 Hwy 2--The ULNRD office parking lot.
STAPLETON-- In the old state yard one block south of highway 92 on the west edge of town.
The types of recyclables accepted and how to prepare them prior to putting in the trailer are listed below. Please note--for any item that is to be recycled it must be empty.
We are currently collecting:
~Number 1 and 2 plastics.
Plastics are sorted by resins and each resin has its own numerical code. The easier the plastic is to recycle the lower the number. You can find this number on the product usually imprinted on the bottom of the product or inside a small triangle on the product label.
Number 1’s are usually a clear plastic such as soft drink and water bottles, medicine containers, peanut butter jars, ketchup jars, etc.
Number 2’s are heavier containers such as laundry detergents, bleaches, milk, shampoo, motor oil, etc.

~Newspaper/paper/magazines ** NO HEAVY CONSTRUCTION PAPER OR HEAVILY DYED
